A Celebration of Life & Legacy of Alice Home Foster

Join the Montclair African American Heritage Foundation (MAAHF) for a Black History Month event at the Montclair History Center in honor of Alice Home Foster, a community leader and entrepreneur who founded the YWCA for "Colored" Women.

A brick dedication ceremony in Alice’s memory will be held at the Crane House and Historic YWCA patio.  RSVP here.

12:30-1:00 pm: Enjoy light refreshments

1:00-1:30pm: Interview and discussion with genealogist and relatives

1:30-1:45 pm: Dedication on the patio

To learn more about the YWCA, a tour of the Crane House and Historic YWCA, led by Angelica Diggs, Executive Director of the Montclair History Center, will begin at 2 pm.
