Beginning this month, Montclair Community Farms will begin taking big steps towards clearing the land for a new farm that will soon occupy 6000 square feet on the grounds of the Israel Crane, Nathaniel Crane, and Clark Houses. They’re preparing the land for its first harvest in 2013. Coincidentally, this land was some of the land farmed by Israel Crane’s ancestors when they became the first European settlers on the land way back in the 17th century.
